the Big Food Switch
An initiative of 500+ people collectively changing their diet to a more sustainable one from September 1st to November 30th, to make a political statement. With an ultimate goal to transform the food system, everyone who participates will: eat more plant-based food, eat more seasonal (and local) food, and eat products that are ethical and fair. Each month will focus on one of those concepts, and recipes will be provided as a guide.
Climate Reality Project
The Climate Reality Project is an international, diverse group of passionate individuals who’ve come together to solve the greatest challenge of our time. Led by former US Vice President Al Gore and CEO and President Ken Berlin, they empower everyday people to become activists, equipping them with the tools, training, and network to fight for solutions and drive change planet-wide.
Climate Science
Climate Science is an international platform publishing content and resources to help young learners get everything they need to understand more about climate science. Providing support for both teachers and students, this organization is committed to making climate science media entertaining, understandable, and credible. See how you can help below.
Earth Strategy
Earth Strategy, a youth-led nonprofit fiscally sponsored by Power Shift Network, aims to bolster climate activism in areas underrepresented in the climate discussion. Launching an ambassador program in late August, Earth Strategy will provide support and skill building opportunities as ambassadors implement advocacy projects.
Fossil Free University
A 12 week training course for climate justice activists around the world who want to channel the power of the youth movement to the source of the climate crisis. Created by #pollutersout, FFU teaches how to be a climate justice leader and fight the fossil fuel industry. Graduates gain a new understanding, new skills and a new network of mentors and colleagues to be effective “Fossil Freedom Fighters” for the long fight ahead.
Fridays for Future Digital
Since last year, FFF Digital has began a growing movement of digital protesting for those who cannot physically strike with Fridays for Future. Their mission is to uplift local and regional campaigns, demand to keep global temperature rise below 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels, ensure climate justice and equity, and unite behind the best science available.
Greenpeace
Greenpeace uses non-violent creative action to pave the way towards a greener, more peaceful world, and to confront the systems that threaten our environment. With 27 independent national/regional organisations, we work directly with communities on the frontlines as they protect the environments they call home.
Re-Earth Initiative (REI)
REI is a global, youth-led movement mobilizing thousands of people to take part in our global digital protests and other forms of action against climate disruption and ecological harm. They provide a wide range of avenues for people to participate in the climate movement, including informational webinars and writing toolkits.
Roots and Shoots
Roots & Shoots is a global community action programme founded by Dr. Jane Goodall in 1991. It shows them how to follow their passions, take actions together and become the change our world needs. Roots & Shoots encourages youths to implement practical positive change by providing teachers and team leaders with free resources and a place to share their success stories with the world.
SustainEd
The SustainEd Group is an Ontario-based sustainability education provider which creates weekly webinars interviewing sustainability professionals to empower youths to act. Their mission is to empower the next generation of sustainability leaders to produce extraordinary impact towards a sustainable future.
WeMakeChange
WeMakeChange is a movement of 10,000s of ChangeMakers from more than 100 countries using their skills to address the challenges the world faces today. Their online platform now enables people from across the world to make the change they want to see.
Youth Climate Leaders
Youth Climate Leaders (YCL) is a global youth leadership network catalyzing climate careers that position young people to lead on actions and solutions to the climate crisis. Their comprehensive approach accelerates the capacities of young leaders through immersive training with climate practitioners, experts, and leaders while facilitating connections to professional placements within the climate economy.
